WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?
Lumecca can be used on all areas of the body to enhance skin complexion. The most common areas of treatment are zones that are regularly exposed to the sun. This often includes the face, neck, décolletage, legs, hands and arms.
WHAT STEPS MUST BE TAKEN BEFORE THE PROCEDURE?
Avoid excessive sun exposure and/or tanning two weeks prior to treatment to reduce skin irregularities.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING AND AFTER LUMECCA?
During treatment, there will be a bright flash and a light snap of heat. Redness and warmth to the skin are normal after treatment and will subside an hour or two after treatment. Over the next 24-72 hours you may see your pigmented spots darkening. In the week coming, the pigmented lesions will flake off. Do not exfoliate or pick them off. Let pigmented lesions flake off on their own.
HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE RECOMMEND?
We do recommend multiple sessions to see the most improved skin appearance. A consultation is required prior to scheduling an appointment. How does it work?
Before your treatment, topical numbing will be applied to cleansed skin for 50-60 minutes. This is to minimize discomfort during the treatment process. During the procedure, a handheld device is pressed into the specified area of the skin, allowing microneedles to perforate the skin. Once the microneedles are in place, they generate radiofrequency (RF) waves to penetrate deep into the dermal layer. Since the needles are tiny, most patients tolerate the procedure well.
